MATHI YOSI

‘Maathi Yosi’ (English: Think Differently) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Nandha Periyasamy and music by Guru Kalyan. Starring Harish, Kanchivaram fame Shammu along with newcomers Gopal, Alex and Lokesh in the lead roles.

The voice of director Sasikumar to introduce the four mischievous guys Pandi, Mangaa, Kona, Maari, in his typical Madurai lingo who think they rule the 'Kadavur' village.

This movie centers around 4 young men and is set in an arid dry village. These men are forced to flee the village and migrate to Chennai due to certain circumstances. The backdrop of the film tries to show the contrasts between an impoverished village and a privileged and rich city.

We have used the smothering heat, the emptiness of the land and dust to reflect poverty. Sunlight has been employed effectively to create this startling effect. The scenes have been filmed using sun light as ‘High light’ whilst ensuring minimum usage of ‘fill light’. We have sacrificed aesthetics for ‘rough images’ to lift the film to a whole different level.
